JJGK Aero

JJGK Aero is a helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul centre at the Pôle Aéronautique of Istres, near Marseille airport in the south of France, dedicated to the Airbus Super Puma family. It was created in 2018 by three aviation professionals, each with more than 30 years of experience in offshore operations, sea rescue and aerial work in civil and military sectors, to address a lack of heavy helicopter maintenance infrastructure. The company occupies the historic Mercure hangar, a 12,000 square metre facility monitored 24 hours a day with a double overhead crane, 14 maintenance slots and storage areas, and employs about fifty people in mechanics, painting, boilermaking and administration.

Services

• Maintenance of H225 and AS332 helicopters and their components, from routine inspections to complex repairs and major visits
• Painting by a team of painters and sealers in paint and preparation booths large enough for an H225, under Airbus special process qualification, from minor touch-ups to complete repaints
• Continuing airworthiness management through its CAMO office, covering inspection planning, monitoring of flight hours and cycles, and creation, follow-up and revision of aircraft maintenance programmes
• Short and long term storage with maintenance carried out during the storage period, maintenance check flights and ferry flights by experienced pilots, and the sale of helicopter parts

• EASA Part 145 approval FR.145.0754, obtained in April 2020, for the H225 and AS332 with ratings A3, C3, C5, C6, C8, C10 and C20
• EMAR/FR 145-079 military approval since April 2023 for H225M and EC725 helicopters
• Cayman Islands AMO approval since November 2023, FAA repair station approval JJGY428E since April 2024 and 2-REG.145.542 since August 2025
• Part CAMO approval FR.CAMO.0161 and CAY-CAMO approval, plus FR.DEC.609 and ETXLL-SPV 2025-0097

Company

JJGK Aero exhibited at the Paris Air Show in 2023, inaugurated a paint booth used by a new aeronautical painter training course in partnership with the Lycée Pierre Mendès France in Vitrolles, and has carried out the dismantling of an H225. Partner logos on its site include Airbus Helicopters, GIFAS, SAFE, the Région Sud, the Istres aeronautical cluster, UIMM and the town of Istres, and it sponsors local handball and volleyball clubs. The company publishes a press kit, a Q and A section and job offers.
