About Hartwig Aircraft Fuel Cell Repair

Hartwig Aircraft Fuel Cell Repair restores and supplies fuel cells for aircraft and helicopters. The company says it has kept aircraft in the air since 1952. It repairs and restores all makes and models of fuel cells, from a small Luscombe to a Boeing 737.

The company works from a US facility in Hallock, Minnesota, and a Canadian facility at Winnipeg St. Andrews Airport in Manitoba. The US facility is an FAA repair station. The Canadian facility is a Transport Canada repair station.

New fuel cells are supplied for most aircraft. The company can supply new STC, PMA and TC fuel cells. Aircraft served include Aero Commander, Beech, Cessna, Piper, Cherokee, Bonanza, King Air, Twin Otter and many others.

Remanufactured fuel cells are also offered. The company can rebuild a whole new aircraft fuel cell based on the original, made with modern materials and to modern safety standards. Remanufactured helicopter fuel cells and Cherokee fuel tanks are available too.

Repairs cover aircraft and helicopter fuel cells, pneumatic components, deicing boots, and metal and aluminum tanks. The company says a repaired fuel cell can cost less than half the price of a new one. The company can also supply overhauled units when speed is important.

Custom built fuel cells are made for aircraft, helicopters, homebuilts, race cars and boats. Custom bladders can be made for old aircraft or homebuilts where the original cells are not available. Monarch gas caps and tanks are also sold, with ordering information and installation tips.

Repair and overhaul procedures and costs, quality assurance information, bilateral airworthiness agreements and a fuel cell part number list are published. Information is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese.
