Handtevy

Handtevy is an American clinical technology company that provides precision dosing, real time protocols and clinical decision support for emergency medical services and hospitals. It began with pediatrics. The company, originally named Pediatric Emergency Standards, Inc., was set up by Dr. Peter Antevy, a pediatric emergency medicine physician and EMS medical director, who wanted a simpler tool for the complex drug dosing needed when resuscitating children. Handtevy has since widened its scope to adult emergency care.

The company says it has worked since 2010 and that more than 200,000 clinicians in all 50 US states use its platform. Its mission is to let clinicians give the highest standard of emergency medical care to all critically ill and injured patients, with a focus on children.

Evidence and security

Handtevy points to published work on medication errors in pediatric patients and on early on-scene management. It reports that pediatric out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival with good neurological outcome rose from 0 percent before Handtevy to 23 percent after protocol standardisation. It also reports that it has achieved SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, independently verified by A-LIGN.
