GULF AIRCRAFT & ENGINEERING SERVICES (GAES)

Gulf Aircraft and Engineering Services, or GAES, is an aircraft maintenance and repair company in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It works on Boeing and Airbus aircraft for airlines and leasing companies. The site calls it a newly established maintenance and repair organisation.

The company was incorporated in January 2023. It received a Bermuda Part-145 approval in August 2023. In December 2023 it received an approval certificate from the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Morocco.

GAES offers six main services. These are heavy and line maintenance, aircraft painting, engine services, cabin maintenance and modifications, non-destructive testing, and engineering and design services. Its mission also mentions training, CAMO and Part-21 solutions. The company says its service range covers the full maintenance cycle, including complex structural inspections, repairs and modifications.

The Boeing and Airbus types listed include the 737 NG with CFM56-7 engines, the 747-400 with PW4000 and CF6-80 engines, the 747-8 with GEnx engines, and the 777-200 and 777-300 with GE90 and Trent 700 engines. For Airbus it lists the A319, A320 and A321 ceo and neo families with CFM56-5, V2500 and LEAP engines.

The hangar complex has two sections with 16,600 square metres of floor space. It can hold up to eight narrow-body and two wide-body aircraft at once. Workshops and storage add another 5,700 square metres. Shops include structure repair, advanced composites, decals, a paint booth and a clean room. The paint area has fire retardant curtains, ventilation and drainage.

The company says this suits maintenance on Asia to Europe routes and makes parts supply simpler. The team is multinational.
