GMF AeroAsia

PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk, known as GMF AeroAsia, is an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company based at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport near Jakarta, Indonesia. It began in 1949 as the technical division of Garuda Indonesia, became an independent company in 2002 and has been listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange under the ticker GMFI since 2017. It remains part of the Garuda Indonesia Group.

Recent news on its site covers a concession agreement with Oman's Civil Aviation Authority for MRO development, an exploration with VELA of MRO for advanced air mobility aircraft, and a collaboration with FTAI on engine maintenance.

Facilities

The site describes four hangars at Soekarno-Hatta:

• Hangar 1: 22,000 sq m, heavy maintenance of widebody aircraft
• Hangar 2: 23,000 sq m, inspections up to A checks, for widebody and narrowbody aircraft
• Hangar 3: 23,000 sq m, dedicated to the Airbus A330 series
• Hangar 4: 66,940 sq m, for narrowbody aircraft, with 15 lines plus a paint line

Certifications

GMF AeroAsia lists an FAA repair station approval (held since 1992) and approvals from authorities in more than 25 countries, including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, UAE, South Korea, Bahrain and Oman. It also lists ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certificates.
