About General Dynamics Mission Systems

General Dynamics Mission Systems is a defence electronics manufacturer and integrator. It builds mission critical systems for land, sea, air, space and cyber. The company says it has decades of experience engineering systems that work every time.

The company says its technology goes into combat vehicles, ships, submarines, aircraft and spacecraft. Its products help platforms sense danger, share information securely and respond to threats. It has more than 12,000 employees worldwide.

On land, its products include assured positioning, navigation and timing systems for ground vehicles, the RAMPART CMOSS mounted form factor, and PhantomLink free space optical communications. Its sea work covers shipboard integration and combat systems, submarine systems, Expeditionary Fast Transport, the MainTAIN maintenance system for the Navy, and underwater vehicles such as Bluefin products.

In the air, the company offers autonomous airborne systems, combat search and rescue radios, and military radomes. Its space products include satellite mission payloads, the guarDSMan digital software modem, and space operations and engineering services. Its satellite ground systems include the Mobile User Objective System and the Space Network ground segment.

Its cyber and encryption range covers TACLANE network encryption, ProtecD@R data at rest encryption, and Idaho Scientific embedded security. The company also lists multilevel security products, including the Pitbull trusted operating system. Its training includes TACLANE E-Series encryptor training.

Recent news includes a 21 October 2026 contract for production of Next Generation Electronics Attack Units for the U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler. On 19 October 2026 the company received a $194 million contract modification for the SLCM-N fire control subsystem. On 7 October 2026 it completed a hypersonic flight demonstration of its GPS denied receiver with the U.S. Army.

The company serves defence, civil government, intelligence and cybersecurity customers. Its mission section says its radios give downed pilots a way to call home, and its encryption keeps top secret information out of the wrong hands.
