GAMIT was founded in 1990 and chose London Stansted Airport as its base because that airport was expected to grow into a major London gateway. Its aim has always been to give professional and technical support to local and international MROs, airlines, and private and corporate aircraft owners.
Its management team has wide experience in airline, corporate aviation, VIP and MRO engineering services and products. GAMIT has three service lines: Material and Logistics Support, Technical Services and ROAM, a digital records platform. Clients can use one service or combine all of them for a turnkey package built with downtime and cost in mind.
Technical Services starts with pre-purchase inspection. When a buyer is purchasing an aircraft, GAMIT can act for the buyer. The team reviews the physical aircraft and its records. It checks the records for completeness and airworthiness compliance, either by sample or through a full history back to the aircraft's birth.
Records auditing covers aircraft that are being taken on lease or returned to the owner. The team reviews digital records or the paper records where they are stored. It also studies the lease terms for delivery and redelivery. Onsite technical representation places an engineer at the hangar during heavy maintenance. The engineer watches parts ordering, engineer hours and cost control, so the aircraft returns to service on time.
ROAM moves paper-based aircraft records onto one online platform, so the full history of an aircraft is in one place. GAMIT also has staff who can work off site for clients who plan to lease or buy an aircraft. Its teams are on call for material and logistics needs, and it offers a round-the-clock AOG contact.
