GALVATEC

GALVATEC is a company in La Rinconada, Sevilla, Spain, that provides surface treatments, machining, assembly and non-destructive testing for the aeronautical sector. It has worked in this field since 2006 and focuses only on aerospace customers.

The company has more than 120 qualified professionals. It holds process certifications issued by the prime contractors Airbus, Boeing and Embraer. It works as a Tier 2 supplier. It offers a full management service built on manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, programme management and supply chain management. Its aim is to keep growing and to offer turn-key solutions.

Machining and turning work covers five-axis CNC machining of titanium and aluminium, three-axis turning, three-axis CNC milling, precision boring and grinding.

Surface treatments are a core skill. They include electrolytic cadmium plating, hard chromium plating, CRES passivation, phosphatising, zinc-nickel coating and chemical conversion coating. The company also does sulphuric, tartaric sulphuric and boric sulphuric anodising, primer and topcoat application, and etching of titanium and aluminium before penetrant inspection. Heat treatments include de-embrittlement and stress relief. Shot peening uses glass beads or steel shot, and dry blasting is also offered.

Non-destructive testing includes hardness and conductivity checks, liquid penetrant crack detection and magnetic particle crack detection. A chemical analysis and testing lab runs adhesion tests, salt spray corrosion tests, atomic absorption, X-ray spectrophotometry and coating thickness measurement. Final inspection includes three-dimensional measurement and dimensional inspection.

Metallic sub-assembly work covers riveting, bushing and bearing installation, non-structural bonding and sealant application. The company also assembles composite parts, seals their edges and paints aerostructures. It is a member of the HELICE cluster, the Spanish Association for Quality, AEND and AIAS.
