About Flight Science

Flight Science is a software company in the United States that builds an operations platform for airlines. Its tools help dispatchers and pilots improve safety, reliability and fuel efficiency.

The main product is Flight Science DX. It gives dispatchers one place to see weather, flights, airports, airspace and alerts. Flights and ground movements are tracked with ADS-B and satellite feeds. Weather can come from NOAA, WAFS, DTN, WSI and custom API connections.

DX also includes tools for talking with crews. A chat panel handles ACARS messages between dispatch and pilots, with suggested replies. Dispatchers can forward SIGMETs, PIREPs, NOTAMs and turbulence alerts in one click. Airport details sit on a single page. They include METARs, TAFs, live RVR, runway configuration, ATC information, arrival demand, charts and crosswind calculations. Approach procedures, SIDs and STARs are there too.

The Optimize product helps with decisions while a flight is in the air. It builds a True Cost Index for each flight. The index blends changes in airspace, weather, traffic, airport conditions, on-time performance and passenger satisfaction. It then suggests route, altitude and speed changes. These help crews avoid turbulence and save fuel at the lowest cost. The advice is specific to each tail number. It improves over time as the aircraft performance model learns the limits of each plane.

The company says fuel savings alone is not enough. Its cost model also covers airport fuel prices, crew and airport time costs, en route wind and temperature changes, and tiered delay costs. It adds gate availability, airport curfews, time-based airport fees, overflight fees and missed passenger connections. Crew scheduling is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

The Smart Alerts product filters the flow of alerts. Only priority items reach dispatchers, which helps avoid alert fatigue. Airline customers can book a demo through the company.
