About Airport Briefing

Airport Briefing is an electronic flight bag app and platform for airport briefings and pilot training. Its office is in Skopje, Macedonia. Pilots use it to get ready for airports and routes before and during a flight.

The company calls it a self-run briefing system with automatic data updates. It is meant to be a main source for briefing or self-briefing on airport familiarisation and competency qualification. The product is built around Threat and Error Management and Safety Management Systems.

The current version is Airport Briefing 4. It has an EFB app for pilots. It also has content tools called the Admin Panel and the 3D Scene Editor, which let airlines build their own material. Main features cover airports, routes and areas, adaptive TEM and admin tools.

Pilots can see 3D views of airports and approach paths, including escape routes. One airline manager says it is close to a full flight simulator familiarisation without a simulator. Another pilot says crews can quickly reach CAT B and C material in the app.

The platform helps with rules. The company says its software gives a technical means of compliance with ORO.FC.105(b)(2);(c). It records pilots' briefing activity, which helps with proof of compliance. It also says it improves safety, efficiency and recall for pilots.

Airport data comes from LIDO SkyData by Lufthansa Systems. Data is fully automatic and uses ARINC 424 data streams each AIRAC cycle. The system runs on AWS cloud.

Airport Briefing lists many airlines and operators as clients. They include Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Cityline, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Edelweiss, TAP Portugal, SunExpress, Smartwings, Titan Airways, Fiji Airways and Cyprus Airways. The Lufthansa Group says it uses the app in its airlines.

Support is available by phone, email and live chat. The company also provides training videos, user manuals and a support centre.
