About European Air Ambulance

European Air Ambulance (EAA) is one of the largest specialised air ambulance providers in Europe. It flies medical repatriations worldwide from Luxembourg Airport, 24 hours a day, with its own jets and medical crews. EAA is a brand of Luxembourg Air Ambulance S.A., part of the Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) group, which has flown rescue and air ambulance missions since 1989.

Fleet

2 x Bombardier Challenger 605: long range flagship, 870 km/h, 7,400 km range, up to 3 patients
3 x Bombardier Learjet 45XR: fast short and medium range jet, 800 km/h, 3,100 km range, up to 2 patients

All five jets are dedicated to medical flights and carry full medical equipment and medication.

Medical crews

EAA only recruits experienced, clinically active medical staff. Each flight carries at least one physician and one flight nurse, matched to the patient: an ICU physician for critical patients, a neonatologist or paediatrician for babies and children, and isolation trained teams for infectious cases. Crews speak English plus another major European language.

Mission Control

A 24/7 Mission Control Centre at the Luxembourg headquarters coordinates every flight, from the first call to the handover at the receiving hospital. It is the single point of contact for hospitals, insurers, assistance companies and families.
