Editerra

Editerra is a map maker based in La Rochelle, France. It makes road maps, aeronautical charts, city plans, access plans, transport network maps, tourist maps and thematic maps. The company was created in 1992.

Since its start, Editerra has focused on technology and quality. Its work covers data capture, the use of GIS, cartographic processing and enrichment, digital or paper publishing, and four-colour printing. The company says it controls the whole production process.

The team includes cartographers, geographers, geomatics specialists and draftspeople. Editerra aims to give each client a service made to measure. Base maps are always personalised, and the publishing format is adjusted for the best result. The company uses its own base maps, built from several cartographic sources that it improves over time. It can also build a base map or a map database from open data such as OSM or Natural Earth, or from a client's own data. The graphic style of each map is matched to the client's visual identity.

Map types include transport maps for road, mobility and rail, city plans, access plans, tourist maps, aeronautical charts, marine charts and thematic maps. Themes can cover the economy, history, population, natural areas, water and relief.

Maps can be delivered as folded maps, flat maps with or without lamination, desk mats, atlases and tourist guides. Other formats are posters, large display panels, banners on PVC and maps for the web.
