Aéronde

Aéronde develops a new kind of airship in France. It is a form of dirigible balloon that is shaped like a donut. The company is based at Grenoble aerodrome in Le Versoud, in the Isère area.

The company describes its aircraft as manoeuvrable, precise and silent. It also says the craft uses very little energy, gives off no emissions and is economical to run. The press has described the company as a start-up that wants to fly at zero kilometres per hour.

Aéronde aims to serve professionals who need to work at height. The company presents its aircraft as an alternative for aerial work. Other uses include agriculture, events and advertising, and the inspection of structures. In one report, a French television channel followed the aircraft during electrical line repairs in the Nice region.

The company also sells flights for groups. Its events offer lets a company invite its employees on a flight, including a half-day flight. The aircraft carries a single passenger at a time. The flight is led by a pilot, and a flight manager supervises the operation. The company says it offers safe and reassuring transport.

The project has support from public funds. It was funded by the French State as part of the France 2030 plan. In March 2025, the company announced it had raised 1.65 million euros to speed up its development.

Aéronde has been in the news often. It showed its aircraft at the Coupe Icare in September 2024. Regional and national media, including television and radio, have covered the aircraft since 2023.
