Drallim Industries

Drallim Industries is a British engineering company based in St Leonards-on-Sea, that designs and manufactures specialist equipment. It was founded in 1958 by Angus Millard to make the Rotary Selector Valve. During the 1960s it added military cargo hooks, lashings and restraints to its range, and its website says its cargo handling products have been supplied to the UK Ministry of Defence and numerous military agencies for more than 65 years.

The company also handles contracts to manufacture, install and commission its own equipment, and sub-contracts manufacture of specialist industrial products for other companies. It offers turnkey assembly and test solutions for electronic, electromechanical and mechanical products, high voltage equipment supply with design guidance, and on-site installation and commissioning. Its staff say they are geared to one-off items.

History

The site says the company has regularly received industry awards over the past 20 years. On 9 February 2019 its factory in St Leonards-on-Sea was destroyed by fire. Teams met every Monday and worked from wherever they could to keep customers supplied, and the company designed and built a new eco building, a project that continued through the COVID-19 lockdown because it supports critical infrastructure businesses. Its founder left the company entrusted to its employees.
