DEFEA - Defence Exhibition Athens

DEFEA, the Defence Exhibition Athens, is an international defence trade show held in Athens, Greece. Companies from many countries show land, naval, aerospace, national security and cyber security defence systems. The next edition runs from 18 to 20 May 2027 at the Metropolitan Expo at Athens International Airport in Spata.

The show is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence. It is run with the cooperation of SEKPY, the Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence Material Association. ROTA Exhibitions Greece organises it. The show opens from 09:00 to 17:00 on each of its three days.

DEFEA lists its latest figures as 436 exhibitors from 37 countries and 18 national pavilions. It also lists 106 official delegations from 48 countries. Its visitor count is 30,137 people from 92 countries. The show describes itself as a major defence and security exhibition in Europe.

Exhibitors can book a stand for the next edition and can learn about the visitor profile and the rules for taking part. Visitors can see the profile of exhibitors, plan their stay and find information on accommodation and on the city of Athens. The organisers also give details on services at the venue, access to the exhibition and an events programme.

A matchmaking event is part of the show. It sets up meetings that help promote the industry, so companies and buyers can arrange talks ahead of time. The organisers also publish press releases, news and a list of media partners.

Alongside the exhibition, DEFEA runs a conference. The 2026 conference took place at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens under the theme Securing Tomorrow: Defence Strategies for the Future. It drew defence industry players, armed forces representatives, policymakers and technology leaders from Greece and abroad. The organisers also share news on Greek and international defence matters, such as air defence, fighter jet upgrades, naval ships and military satellites.
