Dataminr
AI-powered real-time event, threat and risk intelligence
About Dataminr
Dataminr is a United States company that makes AI software for real-time event, threat and risk intelligence. Its platform covers physical, digital and cyber risks. It aims to warn customers about high-impact events before they grow. Customers include government agencies, large companies and news teams.
Dataminr's AI reads text in 150 languages, along with images, video, audio and sensor signals. It draws on more than one million public data sources and takes in over 43 terabytes of data a day. The company calls this Multi-Modal Fusion AI. It says it runs more than 60 purpose-built language models, trained on an event archive of 10 years or more. It says it first built its own language models in 2019, and that a team of over 150 AI experts builds and runs them.
Dataminr says it is trusted by more than 100 US government agencies, more than 20 international governments, two-thirds of the Fortune 50 and half of the Fortune 100.
First Alert is its real-time event discovery product for the public sector. First Alert Advanced adds AI agents that check facts, add context and predict how an event may unfold over the next few hours. Dataminr for Corporate Security helps companies protect people, sites and events, and keep operations running. Dataminr Advanced for Corporate Security uses AI agents in a similar way. Dataminr for News supports journalists in over 1,500 newsrooms.
Its use cases include emergency management, force protection, law enforcement, diplomatic security and crisis management, and transportation and infrastructure protection. For companies, they cover employee safety, executive protection, physical security, travel risk management, supply chain management, financial services and insurance.
Dataminr works with technology partners such as Palo Alto Networks, Esri, Genetec, Splunk, AWS and Crisis24. Arrow Electronics will distribute its solutions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company has also announced plans to acquire ThreatConnect, and a US Department of War contract worth 318 million dollars.
