Crow Safety Gear

Crow Safety Gear is a family-operated safety equipment manufacturer based at 4114 N. Pecos Road in North Las Vegas, Nevada, that makes restraint systems for racing and for aircraft, including a dedicated line for experimental and aerobatic flyers and Van's RV builders. Founded by Fred Crow, a US veteran, racer, engine builder and past SFI board member, the company celebrated 20 years in business in 2018; its restraint systems are manufactured in Anaheim, California, and its Velcrow harness pads are sewn in house. Calls during business hours are answered directly by a member of the Crow family rather than by an automated system.

Aircraft restraints

• Standard airplane restraints supplied with silver steel adjusters on the harness and lap belt and red pull tabs, with lap belts that pull up to adjust and harnesses that pull down, ready to install
• Webbing and padding in red, blue, black and grey, with matching or contrasting pads
• Options including black mounting hardware with black steel adjusters, upgraded aluminium harness adjusters, Kam lock lug adjusters built into the lug that snaps into the Kam lock, and an optional pull-down lap belt adjuster
• Custom-built restraints to the owner's specification through the aviation department, using a custom seat belt order form and worksheet

Racing products

• Driver restraints for sprint cars, sedans, Corvettes, Miatas and imports in five and six-point configurations, junior racer and UTV harnesses, and sprint car front axle tethers
• Limiter straps and engine slings, neck collars and helmet skirts, gloves, shoes and driving suits, with suit clearance offers
• Recertification of restraint systems and a soft goods department, plus installation guides, videos and an FAQ

Company

The team includes DeEtte Crow, who spent more than 25 years as a publisher at Petersen Publishing, son Matt Krick, an original employee from 1999 who runs manufacturing, sewing, shipping and inventory, and daughter-in-law Maria Krick, who runs recertification and soft goods. Crow guarantees quality products, competitive pricing, knowledgeable sales staff and customer service, sells through major automotive warehouses and local speed shops, and operates Monday to Thursday from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm and Friday to 3:00 pm Pacific time, with daily FedEx and UPS pickups.
