About Coptersafety

Coptersafety is a helicopter pilot training company in Vantaa, Finland, whose training base is four minutes from Helsinki International Airport. Its mission, as stated on its website, is to make the helicopter industry safer one pilot at a time. It describes itself as the largest independent helicopter pilot training facility in the world, with five Level D full flight simulators.

Simulators

The simulators come from TRU and CAE and train pilots for four helicopter types:

  • Leonardo AW139
  • Leonardo AW169
  • Airbus H125
  • Airbus H145

They use 4K laser projectors, cockpit vibration, smoke generation, 3D clouds and night scenes, and include debriefing stations with audio and video analytics. An in-house visual modeling team can build tailored environments from a customer's real operating area, such as oil rigs, ships, airports, hospitals, helipads, wind farms, cranes, masts and power lines.

Courses

Coptersafety offers type ratings, recurrent training, PBN and initial NVG training. It also builds tailored packages for helicopter emergency medical services, search and rescue, offshore and aerial work crews. Instructors design the program as pilots for pilots.
