About Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is a fund manager based in Copenhagen, Denmark, that invests in energy infrastructure around the world. It develops and builds large, complex projects that shape the future of energy.

The company was founded in 2012. It manages 15 funds and has raised about EUR 43 billion so far. More than 200 large institutions have invested with it. Its team has more than 2,300 professionals who work on projects and platforms in over 30 countries on six continents. It describes an energy pipeline of about 160 GW across technologies and regions.

Through its funds, the company invests in solar and wind power generation, energy storage, transmission and distribution, advanced bioenergy, low-carbon fuels and carbon capture. Its fund families are the Flagship Funds, Growth Markets Funds, Energy Transition Fund, Advanced Bioenergy Funds and Green Credit Funds.

The second Growth Markets Fund closed at about USD 3 billion. It targets large energy projects in 15 high-growth, middle-income markets across Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. It is almost three times the size of the first fund, and USD 1.6 billion is already committed across nine investments.

The Advanced Bioenergy Fund II focuses on scaling up biomethane and advanced bioenergy production across Europe. In May 2026 the European Investment Fund committed EUR 200 million to it.

Recent news shows the range of its work. In October 2026 the company bought a 25% stake in the Five Estuaries offshore wind farm and invested in Via Verde, an Italian biomethane platform. It also announced a EUR 270 million investment in a new battery storage project in Scotland.

The company also publishes research on Europe's energy system. One report looks at how electrification, grids and renewables can support lower and more stable energy prices.
