About Climate Investment
Climate Investment is a specialist investor in climate technology with offices in London, Houston and Campbell, California. It provides venture to growth equity capital to companies that cut greenhouse gas emissions. It also works with industry to help new technologies reach the market.
The firm is independent. It was set up by members of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative, known as OGCI. Those members invest in its funds as limited partners. They include Eni, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Occidental, Petrobras, Shell, Repsol, TotalEnergies, Aramco, BP, Chevron and CNPC.
Climate Investment has backed early and growth stage innovations and business models since 2017. Its stated mission is to invest in technologies that power the next generation of global infrastructure. It looks for companies that can deliver measurable greenhouse gas reductions. It reports its results each year, and it published its Annual Report 2025 in June 2026.
The firm describes three parts to its work. First, it invests with insight into the climate transition. Second, it helps its portfolio companies grow, raise capital and reach exits. Third, it partners with other investors to speed up commercial roll-out. It also runs pilots and commercial contracts between its portfolio companies and industry partners.
Recent portfolio news shows how this works in practice. In October 2026 it took part in a US$225 million Series D round for Voltus, a company that works on virtual power plants. Voltus later widened a partnership with Google to build a 1 gigawatt virtual power plant. In February 2025 the firm joined a strategic investment in JessCo Solutions, a Texas company that makes vapour recovery and emissions control equipment for the oil and gas industry.
Companies that want funding can apply through a form on the firm's site. Investors in its funds use a separate investor portal. The firm also publishes press releases, publications, videos, podcasts and events, and it holds annual investor meetings.
