About Cologne Bonn Airport

Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) is one of Germany's most important passenger and cargo airports, located in the south of Cologne next to Bonn in North Rhine-Westphalia. Every year many millions of passengers start holiday and business trips there, with more than 30 airlines flying to around 120 destinations in almost 50 countries in Europe and beyond. The airport calls itself the logistical heart of NRW: it sits at the centre of one of the largest import and export regions in Europe, ranks among the ten largest cargo airports on the continent and is the only German airport at which the express carriers UPS, FedEx and DHL all operate a hub. UPS has been at Cologne/Bonn for 40 years.

Sustainability

Sustainability is part of the airport's corporate strategy, with a goal of Net Zero status by 2045 at the latest and three fields of action: responsible treatment of employees and the local community, sparing use of resources and environmental protection, and long-term economic viability. The airport publishes an annual German Sustainability Code (DNK) declaration and reports regularly on projects under its philosophy of becoming more sustainable together, every day.
