CloudLog UG (haftungsbeschränkt)

CloudLog UG is a German software company that runs cloudlog.aero, a digital pilot logbook for pilots, flying clubs and flight schools. The company says the logbook follows EASA FCL.050 and FAA rules. Flight data is stored encrypted in German data centres and backed up.

Pilots can use the logbook on the web, on iPhone and on Android. The app also works offline. New users can try it free for 30 days, and no credit card is needed.

The logbook adds up all times and carry-over values by itself. Every change is logged at field level, which the company says is the proof an authority asks for when a logbook is digital. A cockpit view shows the 90 day rule for each aircraft type, with landings flown against landings required. Users can set their own warning rules and expiry warnings for licences, medicals and ratings.

For training flights, a student sends a signature request, and the instructor signs with a QR code on a phone. Until then the flight is marked as incomplete. Flights can flow in automatically from Aircraft Info Desk, Vereinsflieger and Charterware, including crew and launch type. Flights from SeRo Systems, with flight tracks, are in development. Vereinsflieger flights also get EASA night time worked out for them.

Pilots who switch from another logbook can use twelve importers for other formats, such as SkyDemon, LogTen Pro and CrewLounge. Values that are already added up can be entered as carry-over values. The logbook can produce five paper layouts as PDF: Jeppesen EASA on one page and on two pages, Jeppesen FAA, Schiffmann, and Schiffmann extended with SET and MET.

The service has three paths. The pilot path suits PPL, CPL, glider and helicopter flying, and each field can be hidden, renamed or added. The TEAMS path gives clubs and flight schools one place for members, roles and signatures, with a team code, join approval and a PDF flyer with a QR code to recruit members. The integration path pulls flights from booking and club systems.
