Boldyn Networks

Neutral host and private 5G networks for airports, transit and venues

About Boldyn Networks

Boldyn Networks is one of the largest neutral host providers in the world, delivering shared network infrastructure and connectivity solutions for transit systems, airports, venues, enterprises, government, military and smart cities. Formed by uniting nine companies including BAI Communications, it designs, builds, funds and operates private 5G networks, distributed antenna systems (DAS), small cells, high-capacity fibre, Wi-Fi and indoor and outdoor networks, and is a certified partner of all major mobile network operators across its regions. The company is majority owned by CPP Investments and operates across the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Finland, Spain and Germany, with an engineering heritage that includes the New York City subway, the London Underground under a 20-year contract with Transport for London, and transit networks in Rome, San Francisco and Seattle, work featured in the National Geographic digital series Threads of Connectivity.

Airports and transport

  • In September 2026 Boldyn was selected to design, build and operate a private wireless network at Ontario International Airport in Southern California, which handles more than 7 million passengers a year across a 1,700-acre site; the network combines 4G/5G access, on-premise edge compute and centralised private cloud management, initially supporting physical security and perimeter intrusion detection before expanding to site-wide camera coverage, managed through Boldyn's 24/7 network and security operations centres
  • Experience supporting passenger journeys at some of the world's largest transit hubs, applied to the high-interference environment of a major cargo airport
  • A Private Networks Europe business run from Espoo, Finland, operating more than 50 private networks across Europe for ports, airports, open-cut mines and other hard-to-connect sites

Portfolio

Boldyn reports more than 130 private network deployments globally supporting heavy industry, utilities, offshore wind farms and stadiums, around 300 connected public venues and thousands of other properties, connectivity at 75 US military bases with rights to deploy at 40 more, and public-private partnerships connecting complex urban environments. Apogee, a Boldyn Networks company, provides connectivity infrastructure and managed services to colleges and universities across the US, and the company entered Germany through the acquisition of Smart Mobile Labs, a specialist in campus and private LTE and 5G networks and video transmission. Its Barcelona team delivers public, private and hybrid neutral host networks in Spain, and in Italy it designs, funds, builds and manages cellular, Wi-Fi and fibre infrastructure for dense urban environments.
