About Beehive Industries

Beehive Industries is a U.S. manufacturer of 3D-printed jet engines for uncrewed aerial defense. The company has worked since 2020 to build engines that replenish stockpiles. Its headquarters and main plant are in Centennial, Colorado.

Its main product is the FRENZY engine. It is a 3D-printed propulsion system for swarming munitions and produces 100 to 300 pounds of thrust. The engine is 6 to 9 inches in diameter and weighs 15 to 35 pounds. The company says FRENZY is now shipping to U.S. integrators.

Beehive is also building the RAMPART engine, rated at more than 1,000 pounds of thrust. Its first 3D-printed engine, a 500 pound thrust demonstrator, was designed, developed and tested in 13 months.

The company says it has capacity for more than 2,000 engines a year today, depending on engine size. It aims to reach five to ten times the capacity of today's domestic engine makers within a few years.

Beehive operates one of the largest contract manufacturers for metal printing in the United States. Its casting work uses additively enabled wax, PMMA, SLA and ceramic patterns and cores. The company says its supply chain is entirely U.S. based.

Recent news includes more than $4.2 million in Colorado state tax credits. Beehive also plans a $70 million expansion in southwest Ohio, which it says will create more than 200 jobs. It has also bought a multi-unit order of Nikon SLM Solutions NXG 600E metal printing systems.

The U.S. Air Force awarded Beehive a contract for a collaborative combat aircraft propulsion study. A 2024 development contract covers 30 swarm-class engines with the University of Dayton Research Institute and the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office. In 2021 the company acquired Eagle Engineered Solutions and Volunteer Aerospace.
