About Baxter Aerospace

Baxter Aerospace is an engineering company in St. George, Utah, that builds nighttime aerial firefighting systems and mission-critical satellite communications.

The company began on January 15, 2016, in Hillsboro, Oregon, with a mission it calls clearing the air. Two brothers founded it after a wildfire near Portland put their lives and homes at risk. They asked how to stop wildfires from causing so much harm and how to remove the fear of losing homes and lives. Their answer was to design an aircraft called Dragonfly.

The brothers worked on the project for five years. In 2020 they left their full-time jobs and began work on projects across the United States, which later led them to St. George. Today the company says it contributes to nuclear fusion, satellite communication systems and spacecraft manufacturing, while it keeps developing the Dragonfly.

Its first mission area is global autonomous firefighting. The company develops nighttime aerial firefighting systems to fight wildfires in extreme conditions. It says these systems work on their own, work well and work at scale.

Its second mission area is satellite communications. The company's space-based communications systems give secure and uninterrupted links for military, government and commercial users. It also points customers to FlightSat.com for support with aerial Starlink.

Its third area is a general engineering service. The company calls itself the workshop of mission-driven companies. It uses its engineering skills to help customers move faster. Baxter Aerospace says it designs, makes and tests mission-critical systems that protect lives, enable global internet links and drive clean energy work. It is registered under ITAR and has a quality policy built around delivering good products on time to mission-driven customers.
