About Aviation Resources

Aviation Resources is an independent aircraft maintenance shop at Cumberland Municipal Airport (KUBE) in Cumberland, Wisconsin. It works mainly on Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft: its website title reads Cirrus aircraft maintenance and parts, and the maintenance page says the mechanics work on Cirrus aircraft day in and day out. Besides inspections, maintenance, modifications and vibration work, the shop sells its own tools, kits and owner products through an online store and offers consulting and engine data analysis.

Inspections and maintenance

  • Annual inspections following a checklist that goes beyond the FAR 43 minimum and the Cirrus items, with discrepancies reviewed together with the owner
  • Pre-buy surveys, delivery inspections and general look-overs as a second opinion on another shop's work
  • Video borescope inspections of cylinders, valves, guides and cam lobes
  • Routine and AOG maintenance, performance fine tuning and installation of modifications such as SureFly electronic ignition, angle of attack systems, fuel quantity indication, lights and the shop's own STC and PMA tailpipes
  • Turbo and turbo normalized set up; the site says the team has worked on many T and TN aircraft and has experience as a Tornado Alley Turbo factory tech rep
  • Vibration analysis and reduction with dedicated equipment, beyond dynamic propeller balancing

Consulting, education and training

Consulting is billed as used, with no contracts or subscriptions: second opinions on recommended maintenance, help in AOG situations and professional reading of engine data from Emax, JPI or Perspective systems. Jim Barker also gives engine management flights, classroom sessions on owner maintenance, pre flight inspection and engine management, and one on one service clinics.

Products

The online store lists Aviation Resources products with prices (October 2026, aviationvibes.com/collections/all): Wheel Pant Defenders from US$60, jack pad adapters from US$75, a dual exhaust clean kit at US$795, a single exhaust tip at US$1,200, a mixture guard at US$250, engine compartment fuel hose kits from US$1,950, brake hose kits from US$1,480, and tools such as a short flex turbo spark plug socket at US$320 and a custom oil filter socket at US$80. It also resells lighting kits from Whelen, LoPresti and Northern Lights. Prices change; check the store.

Work on Cirrus aircraft

Cirrus is the shop's main type: inspections, turbo set up, modifications and the owner products above are all written for SR20 and SR22 owners. Aviation Resources is not part of Cirrus Aircraft's service center network. For the factory network and other independent specialists see the Cirrus hub.
