About Atlas Air

Atlas Air is an airline that flies cargo and passengers around the world. It operates a fleet of Boeing 747, 777, 767 and 737 aircraft. The company offers long term and short term solutions. Its customers include shippers, freight forwarders, manufacturers, sporting groups and other organizations.

Atlas Air sells aircraft capacity in several ways. ACMI covers the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. CMI covers crew, maintenance and insurance only. Both options help customers cut capital costs and grow their market presence. The company also offers a dry lease of its own aircraft.

On the cargo side, Atlas Air flies ad hoc and program charters, commercial cargo charters, military charters and humanitarian missions. It also runs time definite express service and scheduled service to and from South America. The company can handle cargo loading and breakdown, including special loads and outsized cargo. Its cargo fleet includes the 747-400F, 747-8F, 777-200F, 767-300BCF and 737-800BCF.

Atlas Air lists many cargo markets. These include e-commerce, express, machinery, automotive parts, pharmaceuticals, perishables, apparel and high tech goods. Each market has its own solution, from fast delivery for online orders to safe transport for delicate, high value electronics.

Atlas Air launched passenger operations in 2010. It flies passenger charters on its 747 and 767 aircraft. The seating ranges from high capacity layouts to more spacious VIP configurations. The company arranges large group charters for guests such as celebrities and dignitaries. It also offers passenger ACMI and CMI, military charters, a jumpseat program and a courier program.

Dry leasing is handled through Titan Aviation Holdings. Titan is a leasing company focused on freighters. It acquires, sells, dry leases, sells and leases back, markets and services commercial aircraft and related equipment. Its aircraft portfolio is worth over US$1 billion. Airline Business ranks Titan among the top global aircraft leasing companies by asset value. Its customers include international flag carriers, express operators, e-commerce providers, low cost airlines, and regional and domestic carriers.

The Atlas Air network covers airports in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. The website lists codes such as ANC, MIA, AMS, HKG and SYD. The company says it brings traffic rights, regulatory expertise, in-country sales and support, and a 24 hour global control center. Customers can use eBooking and tracking tools on the website. There is also a training center and a partners and suppliers page.
