About Assaia

Assaia makes AI and computer vision software that helps airports, airlines and ground handlers manage aircraft turnarounds. It aims to give real-time visibility of what happens at the stand and on the apron, so teams can cut delays, improve safety and lower emissions.

Its main product is ApronAI. Cameras at aircraft stands, aerobridges and the apron create accurate timestamps for turnaround events in real time. Machine learning then predicts when the aircraft will be ready to leave and when it will push back. The company calls these Predicted Ready Time and Predicted Off-Block Time.

TurnaroundControl is an interface for airlines and ground handlers to watch and manage their turnarounds. ResourceManager helps airports and airlines with stands, gates, check-in and towing, using predictive analytics and rules. SafetyControl uses computer vision to spot unsafe situations on the ramp and help staff act quickly. EmissionsControl monitors APU use in real time, to help airports meet regulations and cut carbon emissions and noise.

Assaia also offers Analysis as a Service. It works with customers to build data sets and gives benchmark figures for their KPIs. It says AI optimises apron work, computer vision picks up any event that can be seen, and machine learning finds deviations from the best procedures.

The company says its software helps with on-time performance, cost, passenger experience, safety and sustainability. One result it reports is a cut of 1,500,000 kg of CO2 a year at Seattle-Tacoma.

Assaia lists ApronAI at airports and airlines including Dubai, Berlin Brandenburg, Naples, Rome Fiumicino, Munich, Heathrow, Gatwick, JFK Terminal 4, Toronto, Calgary, Las Vegas, Seattle-Tacoma, Singapore Changi and British Airways. Aeroporti di Roma is a strategic partner and an investor through ADR Ventures. Alaska Airlines is also named as a customer.
