About American Aerospace Controls

American Aerospace Controls, or AAC, makes AC and DC current and voltage sensors, shunts, frequency transducers and pressure sensors. The company was founded in 1965. It ships from its factory in Farmingdale, New York, to customers worldwide.

Its products are built for harsh settings in aerospace and defense, rail, power generation and industrial work. The website says its sensors have been used on projects from nuclear submarine life support systems to the Dragonfly mission to Titan, Saturn's largest moon.

Standard catalog parts are pre engineered and can be adjusted for form, fit and function. Most parts ship within two to four weeks. Features include low profile designs, electrical isolation, fast response, wide operating temperatures, low EMI and high shock tolerance.

When a standard part does not fit, AAC offers custom sensors and shunts. The custom process starts with the customer's system requirements, then a product concept, discussions with the customer's engineers, and a detailed development proposal with a program plan.

The company says all its products are designed, developed and manufactured in the United States. Its development and testing protocols meet standards such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160 and EN50121-3-2.

AAC is an AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer. It is a privately held, 100% woman owned small business. The website says it has received the Boeing Performance Excellence Award thirteen times between 2010 and 2023.

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has named AAC an Elite Supplier. AAC says its sensors monitor the engine start system on the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. Its rail work covers locomotive control refits and passenger car power distribution.
