About ALTYTUD

ALTYTUD is an industry cluster for the aeronautics, space and defence companies of the Hauts-de-France region in northern France. It was built and is run by aerospace manufacturers themselves, and it is an associate member of GIFAS, the French aerospace industries association. The network brings together small and mid-size suppliers, prime contractors and training centres, and its stated aims are regional influence, business prospects and skills development for its members.

The cluster is based at Le Hub in Albert-Méaulte, in the Somme, close to the middle of the region. It says it has more than 80 member organisations that employ about 6,000 people between them, and that all members of its governing board come from industry. It also takes part in the regional aerospace sector structure AER Hauts-de-France, alongside bodies such as Transalley, ONERA and CETIM.

What the cluster does for members

  • Joint presence at aerospace trade events and business conventions, including Le Bourget, Aeromart, SIANE and SEPEM
  • A commercial review with recommendations, which it offers to new members at no charge
  • Introductions between suppliers and prime contractors, with presentations of what the primes expect from their supply chains
  • A shared research and development cell set up with ONERA, available to members for an additional fee
  • Training sessions on topics members ask for, plus help with recruitment and attendance at job fairs
  • Access to the Haxoneo purchasing platform, which lists more than 200,000 products and services from 80 suppliers across 60 purchasing categories

Skills and public outreach

ALTYTUD works with universities and training providers across the region, among them UPJV, UTC, Ensiame, Polytech Lille and HEI, and runs awareness actions for the general public such as the aeronautical initiation certificate, factory discovery days and the Aerogame. It also organises visits to member production sites and regular meetings hosted by industrial members, with upcoming events listed on its site.

Who can join

Industrial companies in Hauts-de-France that already work in aeronautics and want to grow that activity can apply. Members are asked to follow a membership charter that doubles as internal rules. The cluster describes its scope as aviation, space, defence and drones.
