AECE Group
Electronics, harnesses and ignition systems for aeronautics and defence
About AECE Group
AECE Group is a French aerospace and defence equipment supplier based in Serres-Castet, near Pau, in south-west France. It designs, builds and integrates electronic and industrial assemblies for civil and military aviation, weapons and general industry.
The group says it has more than 40 years of experience in the aerospace and defence sector. It handles studies, design, production, industrialisation and integration of complete functional assemblies. In 2021 it joined Gérard Perrier Industrie, a group that designs, builds, installs and maintains electrical, electronic, automation and instrumentation equipment for industry.
AECE offers a full chain that combines a design office, manufacturing and maintenance. Its skills cover electronics, electrical cables and harnesses, automation and control systems, electricity and electrotechnics, industrial computing, mechanics and hydraulics, production, integration and inspection. For product life cycle work it lists product life cycle management, configuration management, industrialisation, MRO, obsolescence management and ways to cut environmental impact.
Three companies make up the group. Aquitaine Électronique is the head office. It was founded more than 40 years ago and has about 100 people on more than 3,500 square metres, covering research, design, production, integration and maintenance. AEGIS is an operating unit of Aquitaine Électronique. With about 40 people on 2,000 square metres, it designs and builds industrial equipment and systems, from engineering to maintenance. AEVA is based at Fléac, near Angoulême. It has 62 employees on 2,260 square metres and joined the group in April 2019 after Meggitt sold the site. With more than 100 years of history, AEVA makes electronic products, ignition systems and on-board sensors. A 2021 news item describes its work on ignition systems for helicopter turbines.
Customers include civil aviation, military aviation, land defence, naval and general industry, with some work in oil and chemicals and in energy and the environment. The group keeps a research and development department that looks for new partners. It also works with a network of local firms in precision mechanics and composites manufacturing in its local aerospace region.
AECE runs an online customer service area with a parts search, repair solutions, and certificates and approvals. For aircraft on ground cases, it offers an emergency service that is available every day of the year. The requested part goes straight to the air freight forwarder at the nearest airport. The group exhibited at the Paris Air Show in June 2025 and has opened a new industrial site at Serres-Castet.
