Airtificial Aerospace & Defense

Airtificial Aerospace and Defense (Airtificial A and D) is the aerospace and defence division of Spanish technology group Airtificial, based at Jerez de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz between the airport and the transport industrial estate. It offers complete solutions covering design, prototyping, industrialisation and series production across composites, electronics, mechanics, software and electrical systems, with the flexibility to handle a wide range of production rates for civil and military programmes. The division has a team of more than 150 people with wide experience in manufacturing engineering, and certifies embedded systems to the highest criticality levels of DO-178 and DO-254.

Capabilities

• Composite structures manufactured as the answer to weight, corrosion or logistics problems, with many different part numbers of composite parts produced each year, plus sensorised structures and composite technologies
• Custom critical electromechanical systems and avionics, with electrical development covering installations, power wiring, control units and communication buses, and electronic development for processing and control systems
• Mechanical engineering from a technical office with more than 20 years of experience in conceptual and detailed design and structural analysis for airborne parts
• Software development drawing on more than 15 years of experience in multiple languages, environments and platforms
• Ad hoc robotic solutions integrated with manufacturing engineering

Ground support equipment

• Conversion of vehicle fleets into autonomous platforms and unmanned systems for airport or logistics service providers
• Turnkey tooling projects for the industrialisation of its own composite work packages and for delivery to customers
• Test systems that replicate the operating environment of equipment under test, with power control and distribution, signal generation, monitoring and adaptation, and management of electrical and bus communications

Group and projects

Airtificial is an international company providing design and manufacturing technology solutions for the automotive, aeronautics, infrastructure and other industrial sectors, with a focus on applying artificial intelligence; its other divisions are Intelligent Robots and Infrastructures. The aerospace and defence site publishes details of collaborative projects including HEDIFICA, HORSERPA, MODIERCO, the BPI system and SAFRA-SAT, and the group reports privileged information as a listed company. Airtificial A and D presents itself as a partner for new industrialisations involving new processes or the restructuring of existing ones.
