About Aichi-Nagoya Aerospace Consortium
Aichi-Nagoya Aerospace Consortium, known as ANAC, is a group that supports the aerospace industry in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It is based in Nagoya. Its aim is to grow the industry as a whole through teamwork between government, industry and universities.
Members include the Aichi Prefectural Government, the City of Nagoya, Komaki City and the Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry. Business groups such as the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Aichi Industry Promotion Organization and JETRO also take part. Nagoya University, Chubu University and Aichi Prefectural University are members too.
The consortium offers forums and networking events, exhibiting and matchmaking, human resource development, consulting programs by experts, and support for research and development. It also acts as a bridge for international business. It works with foreign government bodies and other aerospace clusters. It joined the Global Aerospace Cluster Partnership in 2023 and has a strategic partnership with Aéro Montréal.
The consortium says Aichi is the top aerospace region in Japan. Its companies build fuselage sections and wings for Boeing passenger jets, as well as aircraft engines and Japanese rockets. Some firms, including start-ups, are working on next-generation air mobility such as eVTOL aircraft and a suborbital spaceplane. The company lists 181 aerospace companies and 9,706 aerospace employees in the region.
Aichi has a population of 7.5 million, centred on Nagoya. The consortium puts the prefecture's GDP at 318 billion dollars and its industrial output at 414 billion dollars. It says Aichi has led Japan in industrial output for 47 years in a row. Many global car and machine tool makers, such as Toyota, Denso, Aisin, Okuma, DMG Mori and Mazak, have their headquarters there.
The region's aerospace firms come from different backgrounds. Some began as aerospace ventures. Others moved over from the car and medical industries and brought their know-how with them. ANAC helps outside companies that want to work with this broad base of firms.
The consortium takes part in trade shows. It listed Aichi-Nagoya exhibitors at Aeromart Nagoya 2025 and at Singapore Airshow 2026, and it ran a workshop at Aeromart Nagoya 2025.
