Agile Space Industries

Agile Space Industries is a maker of in-space chemical propulsion. It designs, 3D prints and hot fires thrusters and rocket engines that run on hydrazine and hydrazine based propellants. Its headquarters is at 820 Airport Road in Durango, Colorado, in the United States. It also has a site in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania.

The company works in a vertical way, with design, printing, testing, delivery and analysis all under one roof. It says it has run over 8,000 hot fire tests. It has both additive and subtractive manufacturing equipment. It says its data collection system is the base of its engine design work.

The company began in 2009 when founder Daudi Barnes started Advanced Mobile Propulsion Test, a forerunner. In 2010 it won a NASA small business research award on ceramic printing for rocket injectors. In 2019 it won a commercial engine design contract with Lockheed. That year Agile Space Industries was also incorporated. In 2020 Astrobotic chose it to supply A110 thrusters for a moon lander. In 2021 it bought Tronix3D.

Recent news covers a Series A round of 17 million dollars and a new Bellevue office in the Seattle area. It also covers a Space Test Center in Tulsa and an expansion at Durango-La Plata County Airport. The Exploration Company has asked Agile to deliver flight thrusters for its Nyx capsule, which is aimed at the International Space Station in 2028. Agile test stands also support Firefly's lunar program.
