AFRAA

The African Airlines Association, AFRAA, is a trade association of airlines from the nations of the African Union. Its website says it was founded in April 1968 in Accra, Ghana, and that its headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya. The about page reports 50 member airlines, covering the major intercontinental African operators and over 85 percent of the international traffic carried by African airlines, and 35 partners in its partnership programme, which includes aircraft and engine manufacturers and aviation equipment and component suppliers.

Mission

AFRAA states its mission as promoting and serving African airlines and championing Africa's aviation industry. Its vision is a sustainable, interconnected and affordable air transport industry in Africa where African airlines are key players and drivers of economic development. Its strategic objectives include safe, secure and reliable air transport and the promotion of industry best practice.
