About AeroTEC

AeroTEC is an aerospace testing, engineering and certification company. It develops, tests and certifies new aerospace products. For nearly 20 years, it has helped companies around the world design, test and certify everything from aerodynamic modifications to clean sheet aircraft. Its work includes hybrid, electric, hydrogen, supersonic and eVTOL projects.

Its services cover the aircraft development lifecycle. Aircraft development and certification covers Type Certificates (TC) and Supplemental Type Certificates (STC). Engineering services design aircraft systems, structures and integrations. The company also offers flight test operations, with test engineers, instrumentation engineers and test pilots, and it designs and builds special test equipment and wind tunnel models.

The company's in-house AS9100 manufacturing center can build production and experimental hardware. This helps AeroTEC control schedule and cost for customer programs. Its aircraft modification and maintenance work uses 182,000 square feet of hangar space, with the tools, support equipment and quality systems needed for complex modifications.

The headquarters and engineering offices are located just north of Boeing Field in Seattle. The AeroTEC Flight Test Center in Moses Lake, Washington, has hangar space, engineering offices and a modification and maintenance center designed for customer test programs. The Wichita Engineering Center is in Wichita, Kansas.

AeroTEC was founded in 2003 to provide flight test services to STC companies. It later added certification and engineering services. In 2011, it won a contract with Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation of America to test and certify the Mitsubishi Regional Jet. That work helped it grow its Seattle and Moses Lake facilities.

The company is now working on three electric aircraft programs: a fuel cell electric Dash-8 for Universal Hydrogen, a hybrid Dash-8 for NASA and magniX, and a hybrid electric Caravan for Surf Air. It also focuses on emerging technologies, supporting customers who develop electric, supersonic and eVTOL aircraft.

AeroTEC has supported well over 100 aircraft modification programs. These range from radar and Wi-Fi STCs to widebody cargo conversions and winglets. The company has also completed over 100 certification programs, and it holds an FAA Part 145 repair station certificate.
