The drones fly up to 70 miles per hour on a direct path, which keeps them independent of ground traffic. When they reach the delivery site, they hover up to 300 feet above the ground and lower the package on a tether. This method provides reliable and predictable delivery right where it is needed.

The aircraft use insulated pods that keep hot food hot and cold food cold. The drones use electric flight. The system is designed to skip the lines, the traffic, and the delays.

Zipline reports that it has made more than 2,999,000 deliveries and flown more than 149,999,000 miles. It also reports that its services have saved more than 74,000 lives to date. The company continues to expand its network to give people more time so they can spend it on what matters most.
