Wisconsin Aviation - Watertown

Wisconsin Aviation's Watertown base at Watertown Municipal Airport (KRYV) is the company's corporate headquarters. Jeff Baum and a partner started the business here in 1981, taking over a bankrupt FBO on a quiet municipal field two weeks before the air traffic controllers' strike. A corporate maintenance facility was added in 1987 to support the growing charter and rental fleet. The town sits midway between Milwaukee and Madison. Jeff Baum is President and was inducted into the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame in 2013. The group now has more than 140 employees and over 50 aircraft across Watertown, Madison and Juneau.

Maintenance and interiors

Maintenance is done by A&P and IA mechanics and covers piston and turbine inspections, annual and 100-hour inspections, Citation airframe and engine inspections, Williams FJ44 inspections, Cessna Conquest II engine rigging, dynamic propeller balancing, physical reweighs, airframe and composite repairs, corrosion inhibitor application, pre-purchase inspections, battery servicing, computerised tracking and AD research, owner-assisted annuals and parts. Estimates are free, there is a 24-hour on-call service and owners can be picked up and dropped off. The interiors shop is based at Watertown, reachable on (800) 657-0761, and does complete refurbishments, soundproofing, laminate refinishing, glareshield installation and entertainment packages for general and corporate aircraft, compliant with Part 25, 91 and 135. The company's full-service avionics facility is at the Madison base.

FBO, charter and training

The Watertown FBO charges no ramp fees and offers hangar rental and fuelling. The group runs air charter, flight training from the private certificate upwards, aircraft rental, aircraft sales and aircraft management. Trainers, Piper singles, a Citabria, a Cirrus SR22 and a Piper Seneca are among the aircraft listed at Watertown. The company's annual flying has averaged almost 19,000 hours over ten years.
