About Victor Aviation
- Cirrus specialistCirrus-focused company, not an authorized service center
Victor Aviation Service, Inc. is a Lycoming and Continental piston aircraft engine overhaul shop at 2415 Embarcadero Way in Palo Alto, California, operating as FAA repair station BJ3R399L. Founder and president Victor Sloan came from competition motorcycle engine building, taught airframe and powerplant technology in Palo Alto, then started the business from a mobile repair van and an engine shop in his father's garage. The company sells its overhauled engines under the Power-By-Victor name, has grown into a machine shop of some 20,000 square feet, and marks 40 years in business on its site. Air show pilot Bob Hoover flew Victor engines in his Shrike Commander from 1982, and a Black Edition Lycoming 540 engine is on display at the Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy Center.
