Vertiport Chicago is a heliport and fixed base operation, called an FBO, for helicopters in Chicago. It launched in April 2015. The company says it is one of the largest facilities of its kind in North America and the only vertical landing facility in Chicago. It sits on ten acres of land.

The facility has 30,000 square feet of hangar space, with 6,400 square feet currently available. It also has 11,700 square feet of office space, a 24 hour refueling station, one take off and landing spot and four helicopter parking spots. Pilots can land, park, fuel or rest in executive and pilot lounges.

Its location in the Illinois Medical District makes it a hub for emergency medical flights to nearby hospitals. The company describes itself as important infrastructure for emergency medical services in the Midwest. It supports organ and patient transfers and says it does this at no cost.

The company also offers helicopter charter flights. These give executives quick access in and out of the city. They also reach suburban airports and other Midwest places within a couple of hundred miles. Sightseeing tours run by day and night over Chicago's skyline, landmarks and lakefront.

The site presents itself as the home of the Sky Taxi and a future base for electric vertical take off and landing aircraft, known as eVTOL. These are electric air vehicles that take off and land straight up. It says fewer than five vertiports exist in the world.

Events are another service. The venue offers 18,400 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space with city views. It hosts gatherings of two people up to groups of over 300. Examples include corporate events, car showcases and helicopter proposals. Guests can use a VIP tour area, conference rooms and concierge help.

The concierge can arrange ground transport, hotel bookings, event tickets and restaurant tables. The website has a newsroom, a community feedback form and a contact page. Pilots, medical teams, companies and visitors can all use it to learn more.
