About VAERIDION

VAERIDION is an aircraft maker based in Munich, Germany. It is developing the Microliner, a 100% electric commercial aircraft built for regional flights. The company was founded in 2021 and also has subsidiaries in Delft and Brussels.

The Microliner is designed from the ground up for regional missions. It carries up to nine passengers and two pilots, or up to 10 cubic metres of cargo. The planned range is 400 km (215 nautical miles) plus commercial IFR reserves. Maximum cruise speed is 190 KEAS, or 235 KTAS at ceiling. Typical charging takes under 40 minutes. The design has a glider-inspired wing with built-in modular batteries and a multi-engine, single-propeller drive system.

The company says the aircraft has the lowest cash operating cost in its class. It aims to reconnect remote and underserved regions at a competitive price. There are no CO2 or NOx emissions and no contrails in flight, and the plane is much quieter than a turboprop. VAERIDION plans the Microliner for passenger and cargo work on scheduled, semi-scheduled and charter flights. It targets entry into service by 2030.

The certification plan follows the EASA CS-23 route. The company has completed two Pre-Application Contracts with EASA. The first, in 2024, covered the distributed electric propulsion design. The second, finished in July 2026 with GKN Aerospace, covered high-voltage wiring and power systems. The company also chose Drive System Design for the electric propulsion system.

VAERIDION reports more than 100 new aircraft commitments after its Preliminary Design Review. It signed its first customer contract in 2025 and has secured patents on key technology. It has expanded its market advisory committee to help prepare the ecosystem for electric flight.

The team has more than 75 employees from over 25 nations and over 400 combined years of aerospace experience. It has run ten separate electric demonstrator programmes. It also received German public funding for the BREEZE aerodynamics project, which starts in April 2026 as a German and Dutch partnership.

Backers and supporters include Bavarian and German government bodies, Innovation Quarter, Project A, Sterling Concorde, Vsquared and World Fund. Ecosystem partners include TUM, Bauhaus Luftfahrt, bavAIRia and BDLI.
