Unum Aircraft Seating

Unum Aircraft Seating makes lie-flat business class seats for widebody and single-aisle aircraft. The company is based near London Gatwick Airport, in Crawley, UK, where it designs, tests and builds its seats. Its aim is to be the most trusted aircraft seating supplier in the world, with on-time delivery and passenger-focused design.

Products

• Unum One Herringbone: an outward-facing herringbone seat with full lie-flat bed, direct aisle access, privacy doors at all pitches, a large single-piece table and a Zero G seat mechanism
• Unum One widebody, and Unum One SA for single-aisle aircraft such as the A321 and B737
• Unum Two Staggered: a staggered lie-flat business class seat

The seats use a modular design that is easier to customise, maintain and upgrade. Parts can be replaced on wing. Unum worked with the industrial designers Acumen on passenger comfort.

Facilities

Unum's design and production site has design, applications and certification engineering, static and cyclic test rigs, seat production and quality assurance. Airline and lessor visitors can see the seats in The Comfort Store showroom. The roof has solar panels, and there are EV charging points on site.

• April 2025: Wamos Air named as first customer for Unum One seats on the A330
