Universal Aviation FBO

Universal Aviation Costa Rica runs the general aviation terminal, known as a GAT, at San Jose Juan Santamaria International Airport. The site says it is the country's first and only GAT. The airport code is MROC or SJO. The site says the Universal Aviation brand is now called Affinity Aviation.

The company is an IS BAH Stage 2 accredited ground handler. The site says its GAT was recognized as the Best Private Aviation Terminal in Latin America. Staff speak Spanish and English.

The terminal handles ground handling, customs and immigration coordination, and crew and passenger movement. Services include catering arrangements, fast track services, ground transportation, crew hotel arrangements, a crew lounge, flight plan filing, weather briefings, permit coordination and car rental. The terminal is open from 0600 to 2100, and it can open 24 hours on request. The site lists a 24 hour phone line. The company says it uses three ground agents for each operation, more than any other handler in Costa Rica.

The airport is an international public airport in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The site lists an elevation of 900 metres and a hard runway surface. The tower frequency is 118.6, the ATIS frequency is 127.67 and the terminal radio frequency is 131.850 MHz.
