TT Repairs

T.T. Repairs, LLC (TT Repairs) is a component repair station in Louisville, Kentucky that specialises in aircraft wheel and brake part repairs. Chris Moyer founded the company in 1994 as a two-man shop and still runs it as CEO. Today it works from a 30,000 square foot facility near Louisville International Airport with an on-site team of engineers, machinists, welders and technicians. Alongside repairs, the company builds custom maintenance stands and specialty tooling.

What they repair

The core business is wheel and brake parts, the ATA 32 landing gear components that take the most wear on an airliner. The company says it works closely with the main landing system OEMs: Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems and Dunlop, Safran Landing Systems, Honeywell, Collins Aerospace and Parker Cleveland. It also offers DER repairs to keep parts on wing longer.

• Wheel parts: mating face, cup bore, tie bolt hole, torque bar hole, torque lug, drive key and heatshield repairs, corrosion removal, and bushing, shim and balance weight fabrication.
• Brake parts: all repairs on piston housings, torque tubes and torque plates, brake carriers and end plates, plus stator and rotor repairs.
• Processes in house: welding of all metals, machining, plating, shot peen, HVOF and thermal spray, cold spray and electrospark deposition (ESD).

Aircraft supported

The repair station is rated for wheel and brake parts across a wide range of airframes, including Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream, Dassault Falcon, Cessna, Beechcraft, Sikorsky and Bell.

Maintenance stands and tooling

TT Repairs also designs and builds ground equipment: utility, engine, canoe and trunnion inspection stands, wing maintenance and fall protection stands, entrance stairs and landing gear lift stands. Tooling includes bearing cup install and removal tools, hub support and drive key tools, go-no-go gauges, brake hoists, a fully automated bearing grease packer, wheel assembly transport crates, fire bottle tooling, seat track hole locators and drill guides, and a JT8D-200 engine fan change kit and hoist assembly.

Certifications

FAA Part 145 repair station, certificate M8YR750N. EASA Part-145 approval EASA.145.6457, issued 7 February 2025 and valid to 5 March 2027. UK CAA Part-145 approval UK.145.50367, first issued 11 September 2024. The certificates, FAA operations specifications and the drug and alcohol programme letter are published on the company website.
