Sanad

Sanad Group, known as Sanad, is an aerospace engineering and leasing business headquartered in Abu Dhabi. It is wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company. The company offers maintenance, repair and overhaul services and financing for aircraft engines.

The website lists key numbers. It cites more than 37 years of experience, over 3 billion dirhams in invested leasing assets, and more than 830 engines overhauled since 2015 across three engine types. It says it is the largest independent engine MRO in the Middle East. It also names more than 500 professionals from over 30 nationalities, more than 30 customers on six continents, and over 90 percent of revenue from outside the UAE.

The timeline starts in 1987 with the founding of Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company. The company got full JAR 145 approval in 1994. Mubadala bought it in 2007 and renamed it Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies. Sanad Aero Solutions was founded in 2010 and signed its first engine sale and leaseback deal. In 2012 the company received FAA approval for the V2500-A5 engine. TS and S Aerospace later gained EASA, GCAA and FAA approvals, and in 2016 became the first independent MRO to overhaul the Rolls-Royce Trent 700.

Engine and aircraft work named on the site includes the V2500, GEnx, Trent 700 and PT6A and PT6T engines, and the Boeing 777 and Airbus A340. Financing work includes a component financing and access agreement for Virgin Australia, covering the A330, Boeing 737NG and Embraer E-Jet fleets.
