SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo

SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo is an annual aviation event in Lakeland, Florida. It is held at Lakeland Linder International Airport. The event began in 1974 as a fly-in for sport aviation fans. It has since grown into one of the largest aviation events in the world.

The organizers say it is Florida's largest yearly convention of any kind. More than 200,000 guests attend each year. The event is known as Aviation's Season Opener and Spring Break for Pilots. Many pilots fly in to take part.

Pilots who arrive by air see hundreds of aircraft parked across the grounds. The site lists several aircraft areas. These cover vintage, homebuilt, aerobatic, warbird, jet and light sport aircraft. Together they show a wide cross section of the aviation community.

A large trade show supports the thousands of pilots and fans who attend. The organizers say it has more than 500 exhibitors. They show aircraft, products, services and technology. Visitors can compare equipment and speak with makers face to face.

Air shows are a big part of the week. The home page lists daily performers with set times across four days in April. They include Redline Airshows, Goulian Aerosports, Trojan Thunder, Kyle Fowler and the Full Throttle Formation Team. Ghostwriter Airshows and Doug Rozendaal, who flies as Mister Mulligan, are also named.
