STG Aerospace

STG Aerospace designs, manufactures and certifies emergency exit marking and cabin lighting systems for aircraft. The company was founded in 1995 and is now part of Heads Up Technologies, which supplies cabin lighting, switches, cabin management and audio to business aviation. STG supplies aircraft manufacturers, tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers and more than 300 airlines.

Technology

• Photoluminescent systems need no electrical power and are charged by cabin lighting before the first flight
• The company says no test coupons or ongoing maintenance are needed for continued airworthiness
• Installation is a cut, seal and stick process, about one hour for a typical single-aisle aircraft
• LED lighting retrofits do not change aircraft wiring or systems
