SpectrumFX makes fire suppression products for hard-to-fight fires. All its products use Firebane, a patented fire agent. The company says Firebane puts out and cools lithium battery fires and other reactive metal fires. Reactive metals include lithium, magnesium and titanium.

The EPA has also qualified Firebane as a replacement for Halon 1211. Halon is an older fire agent that harms the ozone layer. Under the EPA's Significant New Alternatives Policy, Firebane is approved as a substitute that does not deplete ozone.
