SkyDrive Inc.
eVTOL aircraft developer with an office in San Francisco
About SkyDrive
SkyDrive Inc. is a Japanese company that develops eVTOL aircraft, often called flying cars, and cargo drones. It was founded in July 2018 and is headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. Its goal is to make short flights a normal part of city life, the way cars are today.
Aircraft
The SKYDRIVE (model SD-05) is a compact, electric, vertical take-off and landing aircraft. SkyDrive chose a compact multi-rotor design so the aircraft can use rooftops, parking lots and existing heliports in crowded cities. The company says the simple mechanics and full electric drive give high reliability and lower manufacturing and maintenance costs, with system redundancy for safety. Commercial launch is targeted for 2028.
