About Aerometals & Alloys

Aerometals & Alloys distributes and stores titanium, stainless steel and nickel alloys for the aeronautics, space and defence sectors. It is based in Chassieu, France.

The company has delivered products since 1993. It has been part of the ACNIS group since 2014 and has more than 80 people. Its quality system holds dual ISO 9001 and EN 9120 certification, and it has held it since 2008. In May 2025 it announced that it had been approved by Leonardo Helicopters.

Aerometals & Alloys keeps a wide range of plates, sheets and bars in stock for immediate delivery. They follow the main standards, including ABS, DMD, AMS and MILT, and come from approved manufacturers. On request it also supplies forged blocks with short lead times and extruded products. It can arrange products made to specific standards such as AMS 4965 and AMS 4967, and ultrasonic controls to the customer's specification.

Cutting is a major service. The cutting centre has more than 10 machines and builds on more than 15 years of expertise. It has vertical and horizontal saws for bars and plates, and a waterjet that cuts material from 1 to 150 mm thick. It can also chamfer bars from 8 to 80 mm in diameter at a 30 degree angle, shear thin sheet up to 5 mm, and flatten pieces in a press. Laser cutting and extra testing are offered through approved partners. Cut pieces can be held in stock and delivered when needed. The company works with titanium, stainless steel, copper and aluminium in sheets, plates, forged pieces, bars, billets and ingots.

Customers can ask for product marking, colour coding, laser engraving and bar code labels for full traceability. On request the company also offers machining, drilling, coil splitting, heat treatment and forged products.

Aeronautics is a key market. The company notes that new airliners such as the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A350 XWB use a large share of titanium, about 15 to 18 percent of their weight for the composite structures. In space, it notes that titanium is used on parts of an Ariane 5 launcher engine and in tools for the crew of the International Space Station. The company meets customers at trade fairs such as the Farnborough International Airshow and Aeromart events.
